Meta is rapidly iterating on its new Muse AI agent, announcing a series of updates today that make the bot more capable and expand the ways it can chat with you.
Muse agents will have their own dedicated email addresses for handling various tasks, and you can also use these addresses to communicate with your agent. Additionally, the recently launched Muse Mac app will gain the ability to access your computer.
Meta is also introducing another way to interact with its popular AI assistant, Muse: video calls. While users have primarily communicated with Muse via a chat interface since its launch, you will soon be able to engage in real-time video conversations with your Muse avatar. Meta will allow you to adjust the avatar’s voice—you can already customize its appearance—while a new real-time avatar model will drive its movements.
Launched earlier this month, Muse appears to be a major success; not only did it top the App Store charts, but reports indicate that its mobile download volume surpassed that of ChatGPT within the first 12 days of release. Meta seems to be capitalizing on this momentum by rapidly rolling out new video calling capabilities, though these are not the only new features for the AI assistant. Meta has announced plans to bring Muse to its smart glasses platform in the coming months, enabling users to converse with Muse about what they are viewing while wearing the glasses.
